These terms of use are entered into by and between You and Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (“QRDI”), an entity with a national focus aimed at addressing Qatar's most pressing national imperatives by leveraging research, development and innovation, chartered under the Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development, a private foundation for public benefit set up under Law 21 of 2006 of the State of Qatar having its principal place of business at Education City, Al Luqta Street, P.O. Box 5825, Doha, Qatar ("we," or "us").

The following terms and conditions, together with any documents expressly incorporated by reference shall collectively be referred to as "Terms of Use", and shall govern your access to and use of qrdi.org.qa and its sub domains, including any content, functionality, and services offered on or through qrdi.org.qa and its sub domains (the "Website"), whether as a guest or a registered user.

Please read the Terms of Use carefully before you start to use the Website. By using the Website or by clicking to accept or agree to the Terms of Use when this option is made available to you, you accept and agree to be bound and abide by these Terms of Use incorporated herein by reference. If you do not want to agree to these Terms of Use, you must not access or use the Website.

This Website is offered and available to users who intend to connect and facilitate information in order to encourage collaboration among the Research Development and Innovation actors in Qatar (“Purpose”) .

We may revise and update these Terms of Use from time to time in our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when we post them, and apply to all access to and use of the Website thereafter.

The Website may contain entities profile, users profile, equipment, facilities and services (Research and Innovation Facilities) and other interactive features (collectively, "Interactive Services") that allow certain registered users to present, post, submit, publish, display, or transmit to other users or other persons (hereinafter, "post") content or materials (collectively, "User Contributions") on or through the Website for the purpose of encouraging collaboration among the QRDI ecosystem.

All User Contributions must comply with the Content Standards set out in these Terms of Use

Any User Contribution you post to the site will be considered non-confidential and nonproprietary. By providing any User Contribution on the Website, you grant us and our affiliates and service providers, and each of their and our respective licensees, successors, and assigns the right to use, reproduce, modify, perform, display, distribute, and otherwise disclose to third parties any such material for achieving the Purpose of this Website.

Indemnification

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

All matters relating to the Website and these Terms of Use, and any dispute or claim arising therefrom or related thereto (in each case, including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the State of Qatar without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of, or related to, these Terms of Use or the Website shall be instituted exclusively in the courts of the State of Qatar.

Limitation on Time to File Claims

ANY CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM YOU MAY HAVE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE WEBSITE MUST BE COMMENCED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES; OTHERWISE, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.

Terms of use for RDI Institutions, Researchers and Innovators Participating in the QRDI Portal

These Terms of Use supplement the General terms of Use of this website and they are specifically intended for Institutions, Researchers and Innovators Participating in the QRDI Portal. By clicking to accept or agree to the Terms of Use when this option is made available to you, you accept and agree to be bound and abide by these Terms of Use in addition to the general Terms of Use for the QRDI Website

Responsibilities of Participating Institutions

The Research Development and Innovation (RDI) entities participating in this QRDI Portal warrant that they own or control all and have the right to grant access to any equipment, labs, workshops or services (“Research and Innovation Facilities”) posted by them on this Portal. The Participating RDI entities further agree to:

Provide an accurate list of Research and Innovation Facilities they intend to post on the Portal.
Update the availability of the inventory of the catalogue as appropriate.
Respond to the requests made by users of the Portal in a timely manner.
Develop the necessary detailed Terms of Use and Sharing Policies regarding a use agreement that are to be adhered to by external researchers and innovators.
Sign relevant agreements with researchers and innovators who intend to use the Research and Innovation Facilities.
Notify QRDI of their intention to stop participating in posting their Research and Innovation Facilities on the Portal.
Have full responsibility for any content, including its legality, reliability, accuracy, and appropriateness.

Responsibilities of Researchers and Innovators

Researchers and Innovators that intend to access any Research and Innovation Facilities provided by any Participating Institution shall have the responsibility to:

Keep their registered credentials for accessing the Portal secure and immediately notify QRDI of any unauthorized access to or use of their username or password or any breach of security.
Connect and make direct contact with the supervisors of the posted Research and Innovation Facilities.
Arrange access to the Research and Innovation Facilities
Abide by the Terms of Use and Sharing Policies of the RDI entity in possession of the Research and Innovation Facility which may refer to requirements that would be stipulated by the policies of each institution regarding the access and use of their Research and Innovation Facilities; e.g. schedule availability, a fee for service, and a liability and use agreement

Responsibility of QRDI

Through this Portal, QRDI is responsible for providing the platform, free of charge, to enable owners of Research and Innovation Facilities and Researchers and Innovators to connect and access Research and Innovation Facilities.

Disclaimer for the QRDI Portal

QRDI is not responsible for the state of the equipment, labs, workshops or services listed in the Portal. The Portal represents a platform to connect and facilitate information into the RDI community in Qatar. If institutions and organizations enter into service agreements for equipment, labs, workshops or services listed in the Portal, the terms of the service agreement are the sole responsibility of the institutions entering in such agreement. QRDI will not be responsible for the service agreement(s) and will not be liable for any errors, damage, or other unexpected events resulting from such agreement(s) and/or the use of the equipment.
